Btw. the "file failed to validate" has nothing to do with Steam cloud or anything, its a remnant of the DRM used. Every time you validate it the DRM file gets redownloaded and as its proceduraly generated it not matches the checklist. Nofear you can play without problems ;-) #3. The "one file failed to validate and will be reacquired" is normal. It happens to me too and the game works fine for me. That one file is just a save file or something that wont be overridden because then you lose progress. Thats just a guess tho.
