DS2 encourages the use of multiple weapons. Strike weapons are best against heavy armor. Slash weapons tend to have the best crowd control and are the best option against squishy opposition. Thrust weapons tend to have the best DPS. Not least because they can leverage the Old Leo Ring.

I don't recommend investing in VIT, I don't recommend investing in ADP until you hit your ATN target (and 10 ADP + 50 ATN equals a 100 agility). You don't need much END (I usually get 20, but 15 is plenty for a pew pew focused build). VGR is a matter of taste.Unless you have sky-high attunement, miracles have very little amount of casts. You should have the range with spells, so no need normally to go heavy armor.
