The SC2 addresses a couple things with the Lectron H series I currently run; right/pipe side choke, lack of external adjustability of the metering rod, the vent hoses/routing, and most importantly the really soft off-idle throttle response. Also, because of the age you need to examine the manifold and airboot for cracks. An airleak will cause issues like you described.
