Seeds are crafted using an Infusion Altar and Infusion Pedestals. Placing the altar in the world will show you where to place the pedestals. You are also going to want to make some Inferium Seeds for another source of Inferium Essence. You can get more Inferium Essence per harvest from Inferium Seeds by planting them on Essence Farmland.

If you get an inferium seed, at any tier, it is possible to uncraft them, and with that, if you have a tier 8 seed, you get 8 insanium really quickly, by growing inferium with instant growth bonemeal, uncrafting the seeds untill you have uncrafted the tier 1 seed, and craft all into more insanium, so, 1 stack of seeds can become over 8 stacks ...All my inferium seeds are now upgraded to the highest tier ones and the center square has been replaced with a t2 growth crystal. Same 8 users harvesting and the hopper still collecting. Upgrading the seeds and the growth crystal seems to have put it back to the rates i was getting before.

If you're playing atm8 just use botany pots and put higher tier farmland in the pots. I think they should remove the tier label for the infernium seeds as you just upgrade the soil and add growth accelerators if you're on atm7. Only the bottom floor's harvester pylon is harvesting the inferium the upper floor's pylons are not working. However, when I right-click the pylon it says "Pylon is working".
