Jun 5, 2021 · Introduction. Familiars are a small, magical animal-like creature that serves as equal parts pet and multipurpose tool. With a long list of potential abilities and the ability to replace them daily, your familiar can be an important and powerful part of your character’s toolset. Before proceeding, be sure to read the full rules for familiars. Things that target reflex are extra good for a Bard, specially if you are the only caster in the group. If you don't have any signature spell in mind at level 2 consider Dispel Magic. Counteract checks are hard but it's strength lies in the versatility of the spell. A Bard might feel obligated to double down on their support/buff niche, which makes sense considering they're the best in the system at it, so while I feel giving them items that take this up a notch with bonuses to Performance and such is a good choice as you mentioned, but perhaps things that expand their versatility might be even better, particularly wands.In addition to buffing through spells and performance, aid another can be quite good, especially at low levels.
