I've used NMM for a long time, but just got a new PC with Ultrawide monitor and wanted to try MO2. In other words, I'm experienced with using mods, but not MO2. For the record, I've updated my SkyrimPrefs.ini file to the correct resolution. When I launch SkyrimSE directly from the SKSE launcher, everything looks perfect but it is the vanilla game!
There is a difference between trying to run at 1440p (usually 2560x1440) vs Ultra Wide (3440x1440). The main difference is in the fact that 1440p is still a 16:9 ratio whereas UW is 21:9. 1440p can generally just be achieved just with an ini setting. For 21:9 you usually need a mod like TrueBy9 since SSE does not support anything greater than 16:9. Ultrawide Master Race - for a wider point of view.
