Taurus serial number lookup not working.
Date of manufacture: Model 80. I just got off the phone with Taurus and the gentleman I talked to said they have no records dating back that far (30 years) and therefore couldn't offer a date of manufacture, even with a serial number. His story was that they were imported into the country at the time by a company called "IMT".
The only models that fit (according to the chart) are the model 66 and model 669. It does say that both of those models can have the 3in barrel with the rear adjustable sights and a 6 chamber cylinder which is chambered for .357 Magnum.
