I can remote start with either the little one button fob by pushing and holding the button for 3 seconds, or my factory fob by quickly pushing the lock button 3 times in a row while the doors are locked. Mine is located at the left rear of the engine compartment, opposite of the brake fluid reservoir, as you're facing the car. Then it gives remote start disabled every time, even mild temperatures like minus 4 C. Disconnecting the battery for a while then reconnecting gets it to start working fine again. It's enough to start it remotely but after it starts and the computer sees voltage too low it will stop the engine. Mine did this several times and an overnight charge with the CTEK cured the problem.
