Hidden away on Eglin AFB near the shores of Lake Lorraine, the directions posted here got us right to the campground. The Seal Beach Navy Base has a similiar rate as the FamCamp at Nellis. Seems to me that if it is full all the time that it would be justified. But during my tenure in the area it was rarely more than half full. I beg to differ re: they are not in the FamCamp business to make money. The previous FamCamp at LA AFB had a cash cow before it closed.

When we stayed the weather was the pits with rain and high winds (gusts to 50mph). Commissary & BX were nice but we didn't venture out much after that due to weather.
