The former is one of the only two weapons in the game that can have S scaling for strength at +10 (the other being the Logarius Wheel). The Axe has a crazy powerful transformed charged R2 that can knock down or at the very least stagger just about all non-boss enemies. For my money I think the Kirkhammer is probably the top-tier weapon for dedicated strength builds. Almost equal scaling with the Wheel but with a good moveset and versatility besides. In their untransformed state they exclusively with Skill (Chikage & Bowblade) or Strength (Bloodletter). However when transformed bloodtinge weapons will lose all other scaling a convert to pure bloodtinge.
