Timing procedure is the same...watch draw stops then adjust cable twists as needed. RX7 uses small washers ("spacers" in Hoyt's vernacular) on the axle to adjust lateral cam position. Hoyt's spacers perform the same function as Mathews' top hats, they just look a little different and are easier to drop/misplace.

Feb 25, 2012 · Phase 4 - 33": Draw weight of 66.4lbs, 29" DL, 274fps w/460gr arrow. Basically the same bow, obviously. These are both 65lbs limb sets with the exact same component sets on both. The only thing I really notice is that the Phase 4 is legitimately a little quieter with just a touch less hand vib at the shot. My most recent bow was a Hoyt Defiant 34 which I loved but I'm ready for an upgrade and am torn between these two great bows. I shot both and love the Hoyt's look and feel. I also like how quiet and dead the Phase 4 is as well as the bridge lock tech. The Hoyt RX7 Ultra 34 is a great bow and is definitely a step up from the Mathews VXR 28. The Hoyt RX7 has a much smoother draw, and it is also longer and more forgiving. If you're looking to upgrade your bow, the RX7 is definitely worth it.The difference in weight is noticeable. The phase 4 feels like a tank. I also think the Phase 4 is smoother to draw with less of a dump. Not that the Lift is bad, it's just more noticeable. The phase 4 is also more "jumpy" on the release despite the weight difference. The 80% mods will be "jumpier" due to a narrower valley. If your draw length is spot on this will be less noticeable. I switched from 85% to 80 because the western state I hunt each year is 80% max lefoff. I did have an acclimation period with the lower letoff but the change only affected how the bow felt to me.
