Ram rotary shifter stuck in park.
This system uses a shift interlock solenoid which is designed to lock the shifter when in park. When the ignition is on and your brake pedal is pressed the solenoid releases and allows the shifter to move. It usually is an electrical problem when the solenoid does not want to release.

12 Posts. #25 · Apr 3, 2014. I had this issue on my Durango with 14 miles on it. Turned out under the shifter assembly and center console, there are dual ground eyelets. Mine were not tightend to spec. Tech put on a scanner, with in 1 hour had the issue solved and tightend the eyelets to the ground bolt.- Tried to start truck, wouldnt start, key stuck in ignition. Wont turn to off position - I can not shift the truck out of park into neutral or any gear. Stuck in park. - I unhooked my Pedal Commander, no fix. - I unhooked the battery (+ and -) for 10 minutes, did nothing at all So now im stumped. Key still stuck in my truck, cant shift into ...
feel the bottom of the steering column collar. you should feel 2 or 3 holes. The hole closest to the ignition is not a screw hole. grab a Philips screw driver or a metal rod, like ARC Welding Rod. Now press on the brake pedal. Then take the rod & push it up into that hole, now you should be able to shift into neutral.

May 30, 2020 · Come to a complete stop (obviously) and keep pressure on the regular driving brake pedal. Shift into Neutral. Apply the e-brake while idling in Neutral. Let up on the regular brake pedal so the e-brake is doing all of the holding. Notice how the vehicle will move a bit. A sort of rocking forward and backward.

When it won’t go into park I don’t hear the solenoid engaging in the steering column. Sometime waiting longer with my foot on the brake pedal works.
