Actually after perusing the Taurus Armas site they show a 709 with the extension and extended magazine. For some reason it's not here in America yet. With the most anti-gun government in history in charge it would not surprise me if the anti-gunners in governement aren't the reason for extended mags not making it in to the U.S..I have an early 709 and had a LOT of issues early on with FTE's, and not the stove pipe variety. The nasty kind where the extractor seems to miss the casing entirely. Around 600-800 round it really started to smooth out.
