Posted April 17, 2023. So, since the wife has now claimed the 2005 Rubicon, trying to get this DCT 420AT sorted out and sell it. Took the GR back off last week, put everything back stock. Shifted better, but at wide open throttle it will still bounce off the rev limiter, especially in 4th and 5th gear.

Jul 15, 2015 · The DCT Tranny Is pretty solid. For working on those units for almost 8 years I have had only angle sensor failures. Since then Honda has changed how the seal and are way better and cheaper to replace if there is any problems. So, here's how you replace that grease: Remove the shift motor and gears (all one piece) from the lower front of your engine. There are normally four 10mm bolts that hold it on. Once you have it loose and off, you will see that in the gears, there is some very thick, gummy, stiff grease. I have seen a few diagrams, and it appears that the function of the twin clutches come in to play during gear-to-gear shifts. When you come to a stop, there apparently is a third clutch that disengages power between the engine and driveline.Rather than leave it for 8 hours, just reset it when needed. google the reset. It is key off, in neutral, press up and down at the same time, turn key and release up and down at the same time, when you hear angle sensor going through a cycle then press throttle open and release. You have just reset everything.

Step 1: Fetch a shifter tool (generally comes with the manual). Step 2: Insert the tool in the over-ridden slot and hold it in its place while pushing it down. I have followed the dealer’s advice exactly but I can’t get the DCT to shift from 2×4 to 4×4 differential lock unless I am almost stopped. Also, sometimes I can’t get the rear differential to release in 2×4 mode.In short, if you ride DCT and have the sticky left switchgear syndrome please TAKE CARE. Bike had its first service today (579 miles). I drew the dealer's attention to the sticking button on the left switchgear (the SET button that is used to control displayed fuel consumption / trip meters / ambient temp blah blah blah).
It can be the shift motor! Mine was stuck between 2 and 3. code 22. could not manually shift it (locked in place). Turns out that if the shift motor stops in between gears (could be because the angle sensor shut it off coming down the ramp) everything locks in place. Simple fix is to remove the shift motor. The dealer said the shift fork in the transmission needs to be replaced because it's defective . My Honda would not shift and the gear indicator would flash. There is a recall on these, should be a N/C repair.
