Carb issue, off idle bogging. I have a 1998 Vulcan 800 Classic. I bought the bike after it had been sitting for a while. I cleaned the carb really well, blew air through everything, and installed new jets, needle, float needle, and gaskets. When the bike is running and I just stab the throttle from an idle, the bike will die.

The last would be to check the voltage on the regulator. Connect DC meter to Black/Yellow and White wires on the regulator connector. Idle should be 12v. At 6 - 8k rpm you should have 14-15volts. If you have no power when the switch is turned on, start by checking voltage on the white wire at the switch, should be battery voltage.It is very likely the receiver in the hub thats bent from misalignment, this will have to be fixed to make the speedo cable spin. A quick check is to remove the cable from the hub and spin with your fingers while looking for movement on the speedo needle. If it moves, your problem is in the hub.
