The injectors need a good bit of pressure to fire. If you apply a little bit of air pressure to the return line, and crank it, that will be your best chance of getting it to fire up quicker. Don't go crazy with the air though, 60-80 psi is about what I'd try to start off.

See if you can solve that one.You should have an output at idle of about 40 gm/sec when your EGR is closed. Don't worry about the glow plugs for now.

Rail pressure goes up to around 7000psi while cranking but injectors don't ever seem to fire. Each time I get DTC code p0336 (Crankshaft Position Sensor A) - status MH.Close the vent and pump it till the plunger won't move any longer. Once it is hard, try and start the truck. Crank the truck a few revolutions and pump the primer. If low on fuel-- add 5 gallons- just to be sure.

If fuel is definitely going to the motor and it still wont start and stay running then you need to check rail pressure. Good scanners are not cheap.LMM no start/no crank. I have a 2012 Chevrolet Silverado LML 6.6 3500hd. Recently had to do a motor swap due to a broken crank shaft. I Swapped the motor now I'm having a No Crank / No start Issue. Thought maybe bad wiring harness so I swapped harnesses, Wasn't the issue, Doing that same thing. The starter does work! metal zyn can Check fuses/relays. If the Injection Pump Fuse blew it would cause loss of communication. Sounds a lot like the old Cummins VP44 issue. The relay that gave the injection pump power had a faulty socket in the fuse block and would drop power and it would throw a communication code almost exactly like that and result in a no start condition. 2.16 duramax diesel lml just replaced entire fuel system . Due to failed CP4 which blew metal into fuel system . Replaced rails injectors high pressure pump cleaned out lines and fuel tank. Now will not start only cranks . FRP is 145 psi . Desired is in the 6k psi.
