The Ruger rifling will be an improvement over the MG which was a cheapening of the JM line for manufacturing purposes. I have two pre microgroove Marlins and two CBs and a 32 20 Classic. One 336W. The MG works OK with J bullets, some can get cast to work and shoot, but as one who casts his own, the GM lacks flexibility.
I just acquired the new Ruger Marlin 336 and have found it to be an awesome piece of work. The trigger is heavy and I am certain that over time it will wear in. Any input on this new piece is appreciated. I also have the original Marlin 1936 in 30.30.
