But, based on some stories i read on-line (which i have no idea if they are true) it seems like there is actually some kind of digital tester, and that taxed fuel has the green color to it and that is what they really test for. Welcome to the forum. Why drop the tanks or lift the bed to reach the fuel tank selector valve. Not needed for any work on the FTSV ever. Now if you have to open the tanks to clean out the broken suction shower heads then even that not needed. You can easily reach the front tank sender_suction head unit.

thx997303. Actually, it seems that the zf5 uses a bell housing adapter to connect to the IDI, but the zf6 doesn't use one to connect to the powerstroke. I'll see if I can't dig up a pic. The bell housing bolt patterns are the same. Though it looks like the zf6 may be larger around the rest of the transmission.

Sep 17, 2018 · Break the locking nut loose with a 1/2 wrench, then screw the allen in with a 3/16 hex. Tighten the locking nut down to 7 ft lbs and check idle rpm. Imho, idi is better for 'heavier' fuel. Injector fouling is less of a problem since there is one spray hole, and the pre-cup design stays hotter.
