Clean that out. It would be better to remove the intercooler and flush it. Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk.

Just ignore what you can't wipe out with a rag. You can run sudsy water through the intercooler, but it means a lot of disconnecting things. The odo just crossed 90k, and I do oil changes every 6 months with M1, and the oem GM filter. There are also signs of some oil seepage in/around the valve cover.

Hi, from my own personal experience with my 2012 eco 1.4, 75% highway driving; 5-7K intervals, ACdelco filter $6.89 and Castrol Edge full synthetic 5-30 $32.00 5qt jug at Walmart. Sludge buildup is minimal. Also used Penzoil Platinum full synthetic 5-30 with same results. Oil controversies are ledgendary to say the least so just my 2 cents worth.
