1h Axe is really good. Its heavies are huge sweeping attacks (opens with a gap closer), and it bleeds and knocks down. It can also let you use torches, shields, or hold bindings due to it being a 1-hand weapon. 2H Hammer or 2H Axe are fun, go heavy armour, vit/str build and just wade in and spin! 2h swords just got nerfed.
