But back when the standard was revised and that wording added the committe published an explanation that it meant that ears should be cropped. And that the ear crop should be of normal (for that particular time) length--not too short and not too long.Take the posts out first thing in the morning and see if they are still standing as well that evening. You have to use your best judgement, but if they are still standing and haven't softened at all you could probably try an over-nighter.
