WHEN you reach F6, depending on your budget, I would say 2/4 necro lord, 5-star wise chest plate and shadow goggles. Your weapon would be a Midas staff, however don't get attached, because you will need a Hyperion when u start taking F7 seriously. Mage will be painful progression and takes a lot of coins. My advice is progress to F7 as berserker (maybe archer at later lvls) then switch to mage when you have hyperion. Without a hyperion you will not get parties on F7 or above. For outside dungeons aurora gear (mage gear from crimson isles) is cheap to startup.
