If it is ram it shouldnt be causing a graphics driver crash instead it should cause either critical errors to be thrown, crashes to desktop or normally slowdowns as memory switching occurs. Whats most likely is that your parts are getting older and degrading. Try giving your computer a thorough clean out from dust.

In Steam , Stellaris game properties go to Compatibility, force the use should be checked on and go down to "Steam Linux Runtime".
