The wheel is not meant to be a delta play, it is really a short volatility strategy which benefits from theta (as all short vol strategies do). You trade the wheel to collect the vol premium imbedded in options. It’s not meant to outperform buy and hold. If you want deltas buy calls, bullish spreads or straight shares.
