As @NiceUnparticularMan mentioned, Pitt says that the merit committee reconsiders applications each week, but as time goes on the chances of receiving merit likely decrease but are not zero.

Already have 1 rejection from Williams College ED I and Waitlisted today by Pitt. Crossing my fingers everywhere else gets better. D applied through Pitt system on 9/9 and never received any email about the application. We checked the Pitt system on 9/14 and saw the accept/decline buttons. Then 24 hrs later, the acceptance letter appeared in the document center.
