The eagle grips on the Colt SAA seem feel the most assuring. I don't know if it's the magic of being a Colt or the eagle just forms a lump that fills the palm of my hand. It came with these ivory lite grips. They were slick as snot in the summer months. This old Colt has the grip panels thinned down about 1/8" across the middle section.

(1977) 45lc 7 1/2" barrel the gun appears to be un-fired, no box . The grips on it are chipped and fit like crap, gaps at the back of the frame, they are serial numbered to the gun. After owning many 1st and 3rd gen SAA's, I finally bought a 2nd gen and wanted to share some thoughts on it. Its a early 1956 7 1/2" 45 that is in nice condition. Some holster wear and a faint turn line but the original owner said that it had only been shot 6 times. Judging from the bore, Id say he is probably correct about that.
