Chevy malibu stalls when stopping.

May 2013 edited April 2014. I have a 2011 Chevy Equinox that is also have the same engine problems (diesel-like start, rough idle, stalling, etc). It has been at the dealership for 5 days, and they have yet to "duplicate" the problem. The "problem" was occurring all weekend before I dropped it off to the dealership on Monday.These issues are a pain sometimes, but we have learned to live with them. The major issue is the fact that it has shut off twice in the last week while driving (55mph). The first time (last week), the dash lights came on, car lost complete power after beginning to brake. Then I can make it half a mile down the street where it will die when I stop at the next stop sign. The tachometer drops below 500 then the engine quits.

Sounds simplistic, but it's a free test. Start the car and wiggle everything that's wired, on or off the engine. Check for connectors that look plugged in all the way but may be loose. Look for wires not fully inserted into plugs, too.
