Now, upon reassembly, the slide will not go all the way back because the hammer is down. I did not try to push the hammer back in fear of damaging anything. Has anyone experienced the same issue ... While at the range today I thought I had an FTF and went to eject the mag. Also do the same procedure with a mag in. Keep trying this and it should release. This is a common issue. The First Round Fired is the most critical. Evidently, there is definitely something amiss with the guide rod assembly. As I mentioned above, try to manipulate the guiderod assembly with a dental pick or similiar object while "shaking" the pistol. Put the safety in the off-safe position.
