As a heads-up to anyone who's contemplating doing this getting the assembly out of the trunk was a real pain. There's 6 clips holding the assembly in place (one on each end, 2 on each long side) and you basically have to get all of them ...

It starts beeping slow from about 8 feet and then the closer you get to an object backing up..the faster it beeps. Yes it will pick up people also.
